Tip: Flash - Line Appearing Next to Text in Animation

by emily on March 16, 2009

While working on a recent flash intro, I encountered a troubling issue with my flash animation. The intro was primarily text based and upon publishing the animation, small lines would appear during the movie, next to the letters. Please see the example screen shots of this issue.

These lines were not programmed and were not intended to display. To make the lines disappear do the following steps:

• Locate the specific text you are animating within the flash file.

• On each static text graphic modify the setting to ‘Anti-alias for animation’. Alternately it may have been set to ‘Anti-alias for readability’. That setting would cause small lines to appear during the animation of your text.

• Change the setting to ‘Anti-alias for animation’ and publish the movie! The small lines will no longer appear.
